Once you're registered, you'll get a personal STAMP Tax-Free ID with a barcode. Save it to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, show it at any STAMP-partner store, and your instant in store VAT saving is ready to go.

Step-by-step registration
Step 1: Open LinePass
Scan the QR code provided in store, or open the SpampID link (lp.realtaxfree.com) on your phone. You'll see the STAMP welcome screen and Get Started.
Step 2: Enter your email
Type in your email address. This is the only detail we need to create your account and send you your verification code, so make sure it's correct. At this email will be sent the Tax Free Invoice once is emit by the store.
Step 3: Verify your email
We'll send a 6-digit code to your inbox. Enter it to confirm the email is yours.
If it doesn't arrive within a few seconds, check your spam folder or tap Resend once the countdown ends.
Step 4: Add your personal and travel details
Now fill in the rest of your profile. This is the information customs authorities require to process a tax-free purchase with your:
Personal details
Passport details
Travel details
Step 5: Accept the terms
At the bottom of the form, tick to accept STAMP's Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy (both required).
Step 6: Add your payment card
Enter your card details (number, expiry, CVC) into the secure payment field. Your bank may then ask you to confirm the card. For example, by approving a notification in your banking app. Steps vary depending on your bank.
👉 Not sure why a card is needed? See the section below, you won't be charged the VAT amount as long as your purchase is validated by customs.
Step 7: Get your STAMP ID
That's it! You'll see a confirmation screen with your STAMP ID and barcode. Add it to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet so it's always to hand, and we'll email you a copy too.
From now on, just show your Stamp ID number at any STAMP-partner store to start a tax-free purchase.
Why do we ask for a payment card?
Your card lets you enjoy your VAT saving instantly in the shop, rather than waiting weeks for a refund. It's used for two things:
A temporary hold on the VAT amount: when you receive your instant VAT discount at the store, we place a temporary authorisation (a hold, not a charge) on your card for the VAT amount, as a guarantee.
A service fee: STAMP's processing fee for handling your tax-free transaction. This is charged when the purchase is done.
Here's what happens to that hold:
✅ Customs validates your purchase (you export the goods and complete customs validation when leaving the EU) → the hold is released and you pay nothing extra.
❌ Customs doesn't validate (for example, the goods aren't exported, or the validation deadline passes) → the VAT amount is charged to your card.
In short: the card is a safety net that makes instant in-store savings possible. Complete your customs validation and the VAT amount is simply released.
Using your STAMP ID in store
When you're ready to pay, show your STAMP Tax-Free ID barcode (from your Wallet or the confirmation email) at the till.
The store enters your STAMP ID.
Your VAT discount is applied instantly at the register.
No need to hand over your documents or card to the cashier, it's all linked to your STAMP ID.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to register in the shop? No, that's the whole point of Stamp ID. You can register in advance from anywhere, or on your phone while you wait, without needing a shop assistant.
Will I be charged when I add my card? No. Adding your card doesn't charge you. A hold for the VAT amount is only placed when you make a purchase, and it's released once customs validates your export. You'll only pay the service fee.
I didn't receive my verification code. What now? Wait a few seconds and check your spam folder. If it still hasn't arrived, tap Resend once the countdown finishes.
My document expired, can I still register? No. You'll need to register with a valid passport or national ID, as the details must match what customs checks on departure.
Can I add more than one card? Yes. You can add additional cards and choose which one is your default.
Where can I find my STAMP ID again? It's saved in your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, and we also emailed it to you when you registered.
